I AM BABA sets up camp....
May 1, 2017

So happy to be taking the first steps towards making a new babyshow! I AM BABA will be created between May and September 2017 and will tour community venues in Dublin in October 2017. It'll be about identity, personhood and agency. For babies aged 0-12 months.
The title is inspired by one of Emily's Bagnall's first sentences and the show will bring back together the TiNY creative team of award-winning composer David Goodall, Designer Jen Shepherd (Emily's mum!) and myself with a team of performers from Dublin - Fiona Browne, Muireann D'Arcy and Christiane O'Mahony.
In order to create the distraction-free performance space ideal for engagement for such a young audience and one where the production values can remain constant whatever the venue, as with the baby shows I've made previously, I AM BABA will take place in a portable performance space.
So, a couple of weeks ago, whilst I was visiting Belfast, the lovely people at the MAC were generous enough to give us a wee hour to pop up what we're considering having as the skeleton of our space.
And here's a wee sneaky peek of it.
The first R&D week starts in a fortnight on 14 May - watch this space! (literally)
